ATLANTA – September 10, 2007 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, announced today that David E. Jones has been named Employer Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee. Jones, a shareholder in the firm’s Atlanta office and head of Ogletree Deakins’ Occupational Safety and Health Client Services Group, was named to the position for a three-year term commencing at the end of the August 2007 ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
The ABA’s Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee tracks developments under the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act, and also follows state plans through which occupational safety and health laws and regulations can be enforced. Previously, Jones served a three-year term as the Committee’s Program Chair.
“It’s been a privilege being involved on the OSH Law Committee. It plays a vital role in keeping the ABA’s Labor & Employment Law Section and Committee members abreast of new OSHA developments,” said Jones. “I look forward to serving in my new role as Employer Co-Chair.”
