Washington, DC Attorney Harold P. Coxson, Jr. Elected Into The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

WASHINGTON, DC – September 10, 2007 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), the nation’s third largest labor and employment law firm, announced today that Harold P. Coxson, Jr., a shareholder in the firm’s Washington, DC office, has been elected as a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.  He will be initiated into The College at a special induction dinner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 10, 2007. Ogletree Deakins now has 22 Fellows in The College.

Coxson has three decades of experience representing employers on labor and employment law matters and devotes a large portion of time to his government relations practice. He is a strong advocate for the business community and often addresses workplace issues before Congress and the Executive Branch. He is a frequent guest speaker and has appeared on numerous television and radio programs as a business representative on workplace policy.

In addition to his domestic labor law practice, Mr. Coxson is experienced in international labor law issues from his service for many years as a U.S. employer representative and legal advisor to the U.S. employer delegation at the UN-sponsored International Labor Organization (ILO). He was the employer member of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Tripartite Advisory Panel on International Labor Standards, and currently serves as the chairman of the International Labor Law Committee of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of Ogletree Deakins’ International Labor Law Practice Group.
