CLEVELAND, OH – April 8, 2008 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), the nation’s third largest labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce Michelle R. Arendt has joined the firm’s Cleveland office as of counsel.
Ms. Arendt, formerly an associate with the Cleveland law firm of Ulmer & Berne LLP, focuses her practice on employment and labor law, particularly on civil rights litigation. She litigates claims of wrongful discharge, harassment, and discrimination for public and private sector employers. She also counsels employers on employment practices and compliance with employment-related statutes and regulations. Ms. Arendt’s experience includes advising a large public school district on policy matters, especially employment and institutional policies. Additionally, she has experience with fair housing litigation, including accessibility issues, and has represented public entities and private property owners in administrative appeals pertaining to land use and zoning issues.
Ms. Arendt earned her B.A, summa cum laude, from The University of Dayton in 1994. She earned her law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 1998.
