ST. LOUIS, MO – November 18, 2008 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), the nation’s third largest labor and employment law firm, is pleased to announce Eric A. Todd, a shareholder in its St. Louis office, has been elected President of the Board of Directors of Kids In the Middle, the St. Louis-area organization that provides counseling, education, and support to children and families coping with divorce and other transitions. Mr. Todd’s two-year term will begin in January 2009.

Mr. Todd has been involved with Kids In the Middle for more than three years. He has served on the Board of Directors for two years, and been a member of its Executive Committee for the past year.

“I initially became involved with Kids In the Middle because my family used the organization’s services a few years ago, and we greatly benefited,” Mr. Todd said. “As a result, I thought it was an organization I could give back to and help in some way.”

More about Kids In the Middle

Kids In the Middle is devoted to minimizing the personal, social, and community loss associated with divorce and other painful transitions experienced by children. The organization provides a safe environment where kids can identify and share their emotions, understand and feel better about changes in their families, and learn positive coping skills to help them at home, at school, and with their parents. Kids In the Middle was founded in 1977 by social worker Kim Long, who had discovered that children of divorce adjusted much better when they were able to share their grief and feelings with other children in small groups. Incorporated in 1979 as a non-profit organization, Kids In the Middle now serves more than 1,400 children and their families per year at its Kirkwood, Missouri headquarters, in twenty St. Louis-area schools, and through the family court system.
