Ogletree Deakins Welcomes David P. Thatcher to Its Atlanta Office

ATLANTA, GA – July 27, 2009 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins) is pleased to announce that David P. Thatcher has joined its Atlanta office as a shareholder. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Mr. Thatcher was a shareholder with Chamberlain Hrdlicka in Atlanta.

Mr. Thatcher is a seasoned trial attorney who represents employers in sophisticated business litigation matters. He also advises employers regarding all aspects of employment law. In his 16-year career he has obtained favorable results for clients ranging from successful prosecution of securities-fraud cases to winning the defense of a class action filed against a client by the EEOC.

Mr. Thatcher regularly appears on behalf of employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies across the U.S., in claims filed by employees,former employees, and government agencies. He also advises clients on day-to-day employment issues, including trade secrets, restrictive covenants, handbooks, and policies.

Mr. Thatcher earned his B.S. from Mercer University in Atlanta in 1988 and his law degree, cum laude, from The Mercer University School of Law in 1991.
