Ogletree Deakins Attorneys Author Report on National Labor Relations Board Released by U.S. Chamber of Commerce – Report Highlights Changes Employers Can Expect Under Obama Administration

   |   Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C.  – September 21, 2009 – Ogletree Deakins attorneys Hal Coxson and Chris Coxson have authored a comprehensive report entitled The National Labor Relations Board in the Obama Administration: What Changes to Expect, released by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  The report details more than 50 decisions of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) along with an overview of what changes can be expected from the NLRB under the Obama Administration, and the potential adverse impact on employers nationwide.

“The report predicts that many of the decisions from the previous administration’s Board, whether critical or more routine, will likely be reversed either through decisions on a case-by-case basis or by rulemaking,” said Hal Coxson, principal of Ogletree Governmental Affairs.  “While some changes would require congressional action, within the confines of the National Labor Relations Act, the NLRB could enact labor law “reform” of its own.”

Also contained in the report are biographies of NLRB board members and nominees, writings on the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and important cases presently pending before the Board.

Copies of the report are available for download at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Web site.
