Ogletree Deakins Welcomes James (Jay) Glunt as Shareholder

PITTSBURGH, PA – July 1, 2010 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that James (Jay) Glunt has joined its Pittsburgh office as a Shareholder.  Previously, Glunt was a shareholder in the Pittsburgh office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. 

Glunt has significant employment litigation experience, particularly with class and collective actions.  He has successfully defended clients in class and collective action matters across several industries, including manufacturing, retail, and health care.  He also regularly counsels clients on matters dealing with electronically stored information (ESI) and discovery.  In addition to his litigation and ESI experience, Glunt also helps clients minimize risk through counseling on employment matters.  He handles issues related to executive employment, compensation, termination, severance and employment contracts.

Glunt has been civically active through service on boards and committees for organizations in his community, such as the United Way of Allegheny County, Dormont (PA) Zoning Hearing Board, Sustainable Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh. 

Glunt has been recognized by his peers for superior client service and professional achievement leading him to be named a “Rising Star” by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for five consecutive years, 2005-2009.  He earned his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law in 2000 where he was editor-in-chief of the Duquesne Law Review.  Before law school, Glunt spent several years in the architectural field.
