Ogletree Deakins Welcomes Kerri Reisdorff as Shareholder

   |   Press Release

KANSAS CITY, MO – October 15, 2010 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, welcomes Kerri Reisdorff to the firm’s Kansas City office.  Previously, Reisdorff was a partner in the Kansas City office of Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLP.  In her practice, Reisdorff advises and defends clients with regard to all aspects of the employer/employee relationship, including compliance with nondiscrimination statutes, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), and state and local employment statutes before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and in federal and state court.

“Kerri is a dynamic and accomplished attorney with a solid depth of knowledge and experience in both labor and employment law,” said Patrick Hulla, the managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins’ Kansas City office.  “As these areas of the law continue to develop, clients and colleagues will find a reliable partner in Kerri.”

Another significant portion of Reisdorff’s practice is assisting clients in proactively addressing issues involving the development of nondiscrimination policies, investigation procedures and training materials, the maintenance of union-free operations, and the preparation of employee handbooks and procedure manuals.  She is a frequent presenter to in-house counsel on issues such as union avoidance, harassment, internal investigations, performance management, diversity, and wage and hour practices.

Outside of her legal practice, Reisdorff is active in her community in a variety of leadership and volunteer roles, including serving as a committee co-chair for ImpactKC and as a Board member on the Alumni Section of the Greater Kansas City’s Centurions Leadership Program.  She also volunteers with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City among several other civic organizations.

Reisdorff earned her law degree from the University of Nebraska, with distinction, and was the Executive Editor of the Nebraska Law Review.  She received her B.S. in criminal justice, also from the University of Nebraska.
