NEW ORLEANS – April 3, 2012 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, is proud to announce that Monique Gougisha Doucette has been selected for the 2012 Fellows Program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), a national organization comprised of the legal profession’s top general counsels and managing partners of the nation’s leading law firms. Doucette joins a class of 134 attorneys from around the country who have been selected as LCLD Fellows for 2012.
The Fellows Program is one of several initiatives launched by LCLD since the organization’s creation in 2009. LCLD has also developed innovative programs to address “pipeline” issues that face the profession, encouraging minorities and women to enter the law and supplying programs to increase their likelihood of success in law school and beyond. LCLD has introduced “diversity secondments” which allow talented, diverse attorneys in law firms to work in corporate legal environments, broadening both their base of knowledge and their professional relationships.
Doucette practices primarily in the area of employment litigation and represents management in claims arising under Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, as well as other federal and state employment laws. She also regularly represents employers in various state and federal administrative proceedings. Doucette is a frequent speaker on various employment law topics and contributing author to publications such as the Louisiana Bar Journal and HR Magazine.
