Anne Larson Selected as One of the Top 50 Women Attorneys in Illinois

CHICAGO – February 6, 2013 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Anne Larson, a shareholder in the firm’s Chicago office, has been selected as one of the “Top 50 Women Attorneys in Illinois” by Illinois Super Lawyers and Chicago Lawyer magazines. This award is given to the 50 women attorneys who receive the highest point totals in a blue ribbon review process that includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.

Larson concentrates her practice on management-side labor and employment matters and tries discrimination, breach of contract and non-competition/trade secrets disputes throughout the country. She handles discrimination charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), negotiates EEOC threatened class actions and handles class actions, once filed. Larson also directs targeted FLSA compliance audits of exempt v. non-exempt employee classifications, advises businesses on hiring and firing practices, reductions-in-force, disability accommodations and social media issues, negotiates executive compensation and severance agreements, and drafts employee handbooks, independent contractor and non-competition agreements.

An experienced speaker, Larson has lectured on a range of labor and employment subjects for organizations including the National Employment Law Institute and the Association of Corporate Counsel. She has also authored several published articles on developments in labor and employment law.

Larson is very active in the Chicago community. She has served as president of the board of directors for both Shattered Globe Theatre and Hedwig Dances, and co-chair of the Chicago Community Trust’s Young Leaders Fund (YLF). In 2012, Larson taught constitutional law to students in Chicago Area Schools as part of the CFRC’s “Lawyers in the Classroom” program. Larson earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
