A Certified Diversity Professional designation focuses on strategy and peer interaction. Achieving certification is rigorous and involves a depth of knowledge on 16 core competencies, including diversity recruiting and retention, designing programs for veterans, LGBTA employment issues, EEO laws in the U.S. & abroad, multicultural communications and marketing, religion in the workplace, empowering women in the workplace, and measuring the impact of diversity and inclusion. Those seeking to earn a certification must submit a professional work that is peer-reviewed and pass the proctored exam with an 80 percent or better score.
In her role in the firm’s Professional Development and Inclusion (PDI) department, Hannibal is responsible for managing the firm’s PDI initiatives and an inclusion team. She assists with the development of programs for recruitment, retention, and promotion of lawyers of color, women lawyers, LGBT lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities. She also advises offices throughout the firm’s international platform to develop and support local diversity initiatives, and partners with firm management to explore ways to promote diversity and inclusion throughout the firm.
