Eric Hobbs Elected as a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation

MILWAUKEE – September 16, 2016 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Eric Hobbs, shareholder in the firm’s Milwaukee office, has been elected as a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation. Wisconsin Law Foundation Fellows, who are selected annually, are recognized in the legal profession for outstanding attainment in professional, public, or private careers for devotion to the welfare of their community, state, and nation and the advancement of the legal profession.

Established in 1996, the Wisconsin Law Foundation serves to promote public understanding of law, improvement of the administration of justice, and other law-related public service through funding of innovative and creative programs that improve the vision of the American justice system. The Fellows honorary program was created in 1999 to acknowledge Wisconsin attorneys who are known by their peers for high professional achievements and outstanding contributions to the advancement of justice in Wisconsin.

Hobbs represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, with an emphasis on employment counseling and policy development, occupational safety and health, employment discrimination litigation, worker’s compensation, wage-hour matters, and clergy abuse. Hobbs represents employers in a variety of industries from service to heavy manufacturing and has litigated before state and federal agencies and courts. Hobbs has been recognized throughout his career, including being named the Best Lawyers® 2015 Milwaukee Labor Law – Management “Lawyer of the Year,” listed in Chambers USA, and named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine. Hobbs also received the Eric Hobbs Award in recognition of 20 years of leadership and service to the Milwaukee County Commission for Persons with Disabilities. Hobbs earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School and earlier received his B.A., with honors, from Calvin College.
