NEW YORK – October 4, 2016 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome David Feldman as a shareholder in the firm’s New York City office. Feldman joins Ogletree Deakins from Moses & Singer, where he served as chair of the firm’s Wage and Hour Practice Group. Feldman represents employers in various industries, including hospitality, finance, manufacturing, construction, retail, and not-for-profits against wage and hour lawsuits. Feldman’s arrival will strengthen the firm’s class and collective action litigation capabilities in the Northeast and nationally.
“David has an excellent reputation and practice, which has been built on years of delivering excellent client service,” said Ronald Kreismann, managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins’ New York City office. “David has decades of experience defending wage and hour lawsuits, and his arrival in our New York office will bolster our capabilities in this region.”
Feldman is an accomplished litigator with nearly 35 years of experience representing management before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. He also regularly provides counsel to clients on union avoidance, negotiates and enforces collective bargaining agreements, and defends employers before the National Labor Relations Board in representation and unfair labor practice proceedings. Earlier in his career, Feldman was the general counsel for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), and the managing attorney for the New York City Commission on Human Rights, where he promulgated and enforced rules and regulations under the New York City Human Rights Law.
Feldman is very active in New York City’s legal community. He is a member of the Board of Advisors for the New York City Chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association. He frequently lectures and authors articles on wage and hour laws and regulations for organizations including the American Dream Japanese Network and New York Compensation Association. In 2012, Feldman received the Samuel M. Kaynard Award for Excellence in the Fields of Labor & Employment Law, an honor recognizing his “strong ideals, accomplishments, keen legal acumen and contributions to the field of labor law.” Since 2014, he has been named a Super Lawyer in the metro edition of New York Super Lawyers®.
