ATLANTA – May 1, 2018 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, welcomes its first Director of Data Analytics, Dr. Andrew Cook. Dr. Cook brings an extensive background as a labor economist and applied econometrician focusing on the intersection of technology, business, and the law. He is a nationally recognized authority in the areas of economics and statistics, with more than a decade’s worth of relevant experience analyzing issues pertaining to employment and general class action matters. As the Director of Data Analytics, Dr. Cook will oversee Ogletree’s data analytics operations, partner with the firm’s Knowledge Management, IT, and Pricing groups, and lead the development and implementation of data-based solutions that provide significant value to the firm and its clients. He will be based in the firm’s Torrance office and joins Ogletree from The Claro Group, a consulting services group with offices in Los Angeles.

In addition to his advanced labor and economic acumen, Dr. Cook possesses extensive knowledge on the use of data analytics and other quantitative and qualitative methodologies to assist companies in improving their workforce and business efficiencies in areas such as hiring, compensation, and resource allocation. He has experience throughout the legal process on matters involving employment discrimination, FLSA and state wage and hour matters, EEOC and OFCCP investigations, damage calculations, executive compensation surveys, statistical sampling, and false claims questions.
