Ogletree Deakins Announces Scholars for Indiana Law Schools Diversity Scholarship and Mentoring Program

INDIANAPOLIS – March 28, 2019 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Jordan Oliver and Celia Meredith have been chosen as the recipients of a $2,500 scholarship created through the firm’s partnership with Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and Indiana University Maurer School of Law. The diversity scholarship was created in 2018 to benefit a first-year law student from each school and support the development of the recipients in order to make a positive impact on Indiana’s legal community.

Each scholar will be paired with mentors from Ogletree Deakins for the scholarship year. Scholars will be invited to attend a series of Lunch and Learns hosted by Ogletree Deakins and will have access to resume coaching and a mock interview by a member of the firm’s national recruiting team based in Indianapolis.

Meredith, an IU Maurer School of Law student, and Oliver, an IU McKinney School of Law student, are the second recipients of the scholarship. They are both first year students and were selected from a pool of nearly 20 applicants based on their involvement in their community, their academic success and the quality/spirit of their essay response to the question: “Twenty years from now, how will you measure the success of your legal career?”
