Aimee B. Parsons

Shareholder   |   Portland (ME)

Aimee Blanchard Parsons dedicates her employment law practice to defending employers in state and federal court and administrative agencies against discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, restrictive covenant, and wage-and-hour claims. She has years of experience representing employers in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, hospitality, retail, and insurance industries, in addition to a number of Fortune 500 companies.

A dedicated and trusted advisor to executives and HR professionals, much of Aimee’s practice is devoted to partnering with employers and developing strategies to minimize risk associated with workplace policies, procedures, and practices. She is continuously advising and counseling clients on how to achieve compliance with all aspects of employment law, including hiring, discipline, termination, the interactive process and leaves of absence, substance abuse testing, family and medical leave, and workplace mental health issues. Aimee also conducts sensitive workplace investigations and trains managers and employees on harassment, retaliation, employee leave issues, substance abuse testing, and workplace accommodations.

Earlier, Aimee worked as a prosecutor with the Travis County Attorney’s Office (Austin, Texas), trying more than 20 jury trials as an Assistant County Attorney. She then practiced in New Hampshire and Texas, representing plaintiffs and defendants in employment law matters and general commercial litigation.

An always-avid swimmer and intermittently enthusiastic runner, Aimee enjoys exploring Maine’s outdoors and soaking up all four seasons with her husband and three children, cheering at her daughters’ swim meets and field hockey matches, cooking the best gumbo in New England, and tending her vibrant English cottage garden between seasonal thaws.
