Allen is a member of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group and the Payroll Tax and Fringe Benefits Subgroup. He focuses on employment tax and fringe benefit matters at both the federal and state levels, advising on Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA), Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA), Voluntary Closing Agreement Process (VCAP), Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Plans (SUB-Pay Plans) and income tax withholding. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, he practiced over seven years at several national tax consulting firms advising clients on a variety of state and local tax (SALT) controversy and planning matters.
He obtained his J.D. from the University of Florida and Tax LL.M from Georgetown University Law Center, graduating with distinction.
