Andrew Halverson is Of Counsel in the firm’s Lafayette Office, where he has practiced employment law for more than fifteen years.
Andrew is a problem solver, working closely and proactively with employers to address and advise upon a wide array of personnel issues and maintaining compliance with state and federal employment laws. Andrew advises and counsels employers across numerous industries and has a depth of experience with clients in the healthcare, chemical, insurance, financial, and retail spaces, among others. As a strategic partner, Andrew focuses on addressing existing or threatened employment claims and developing effective strategies to mitigate risk, all while meeting the unique business objectives of his clients.
Andrew is an experienced and strategic litigator and devotes a substantial amount of his practice to representing and successfully advocating on behalf of businesses before federal and state courts and administrative agencies throughout the country. Andrew has a compelling record in high stakes litigation, in the areas of wage and hour, trade secrets, unfair competition, and restrictive covenants (including noncompete, non-solicitation, and confidentiality), as well as discrimination, harassment and retaliations under the Title VII, the ADA, Section 1981, the ADEA, the FMLA, and the Federal Arbitration Act. Andrew has successfully litigated restrictive covenant, wage, and other employment law cases in both bench and jury trials, as well as has obtained countless favorable outcomes prior to trial or hearing on behalf of employers across the country.
Andrew also regularly defends employers before federal and state administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Louisiana and Texas Commissions on Human Rights.
Outside of the employment arena, Andrew had defended business and corporate clients in a host of other matters, including civil RICO, fraudulent and negligent misrepresentation, and False Claim Act claims.
