Brett Overby is an experienced labor and employment attorney who provides proactive and strategic advice and counsel to employers on a diverse range of matters, including wage and hour compliance, the disability interactive process and reasonable accommodations, leaves, workplace investigations, performance management, terminations, workplace safety and health, and reductions in force. Brett regularly drafts and revises employment, severance, and arbitration agreements as well as personnel policies and handbooks. Brett also represents employers in employment litigation matters and in matters before the California Civil Rights Department and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Brett graduated from the University of San Diego, School of Law where she developed a passion for labor and employment law. Prior to joining Ogletree, Brett spent almost seven years practicing labor and employment law at a California-based law firm.
Brett is a member of the California Association of Black Lawyers and the Lawyers Club of San Diego. In her personal time, Brett enjoys taking long walks with her dog, spending time with her family, and reading.
