Cassandra F. Bolten

Client Team Counsel   |   San Diego

Cassandra F. Bolten primarily focuses her practice on defending employers in single-plaintiff matters against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour violations. Cassie has represented employers across a wide range of industries including hospitality, education, retail, tech, construction, sales, and professional services.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Cassie worked at a San Diego-based law firm representing employers in various employment matters, such as wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, unfair business practices, PAGA, and wage and hour claims. She also provided compliance advice based on the current state of the continuously-evolving legal landscape in California in areas including interviewing, hiring, background checks, drug testing, immigration compliance, worker classification, exempt/non-exempt employee status, meal and rest breaks, overtime and other wage payment, commission and bonus structures, scheduling, job-protected leave, paid time off, benefits, medical and other accommodations, COVID policies and practices, employee discipline, terminations, and final pay. She also conducted and/or supervised employer investigations into suspected theft, substance abuse, misappropriation of trade secrets and confidential information, and alleged harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.

A native of St. Louis and diehard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Cassandra traded the ice and snow for warmer weather, earning her Bachelor of Sciences with honors from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and then her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the Sandra Day O’Conner School of Law at Arizona State University. When she is not practicing law, you will find her with her family, working to develop a prototype of her patented invention, teaching or taking classes at the barre studio, on the pickle ball court, or catching a baseball game at Petco Park.
