Elizabeth Rhodes is counsel in the Sacramento, California office of Ogletree Deakins. Ms. Rhodes represents employers on all matters impacting their employees under federal and state labor and employment laws, including compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination Act (ADEA), the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). She also counsels employers regarding internal and administrative investigations, employee relations, employment policies, and pre-litigation matters.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Elizabeth gained significant experience as a litigator defending private clients, and municipalities in employment matters, workplace safety-related matters, breach of contract, and business-related torts, and has successfully briefed and argued a number of appeals at the appellate level in both federal and state jurisdictions. Elizabeth had a successful career as a textbook editor in New York, before deciding to become a lawyer. She draws on many skills gleaned from her prior career paths to address the unique needs of each client.
