Scott has 37 years of broad-based labor and employment experience. This includes over 30 years working in house in the food manufacturing industry. Over his career, Scott has touched on almost every area of labor and employment law. Scott’s areas of expertise include:

Traditional labor – Scott has handled cases before the National Labor Relations Board and the provincial equivalent in Canada.

Collective bargaining – Scott has negotiated in excess of 100 union contracts over his career, including multiple first-time agreements. 

Arbitration – Scott has arbitrated a wide variety of issues under collective bargaining agreements, including contract interpretation and discipline and discharge cases.

Employment Discrimination – Scott has successfully defended discrimination charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and equivalent state agencies.  He has also defended discrimination cases in state and federal court.

Training – Scott has developed and presented training courses on a variety of topics including basic employment laws, laws related to employment discrimination, workplace violence and positive employee relations.

Safety and Health – Scott has handled Occupational Safety and Health matters before the Department of Labor and equivalent state agencies.

Due Diligence – Scott has provided due diligence support for 30 acquisitions and divestitures.

Additionally, over the course of his career, Scott has drafted a wide variety of employment-related agreements, including employment agreements, severance agreements, consulting agreements and confidentiality agreements.  He also has drafted a wide range of employment policies, such as employee handbooks, non-discrimination policies and workplace violence policies.

Scott resides in the Columbus suburb of Gahanna.
