Jack Haverkate is an associate in the Tampa Office, concentrating his practice on employment-based immigration and compliance matters.
Jack assists corporate clients in adhering to ever-changing federal and state I-9, E-Verify, and work authorization requirements. Jack routinely performs internal I-9 audits for clients and provides training on I-9 processes. Jack aids clients in preparing for government encounters with immigration enforcement and represents clients in state-based E-Verify audits. Further, Jack frequently advises clients on proper work authorization for employees on Temporary Protected Status (TPS).
In addition to his compliance work, Jack prepares applications for non-immigrant visas (H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN), immigrant petitions (Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Professor/Researcher, Multinational Manager), and adjustment of status applications.
Jack earned his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. During law school, Jack served as a Captain for Stetson’s Dispute Resolution Team and was a member of Stetson Ambassadors.
Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Jack was a summer associate at Ogletree. Jack obtained his bachelor’s degree from Clemson University.
Outside of the office, Jack enjoys live music, being at the beach, and cheering on his Clemson Tigers.
