Jim McGrew is the firm’s Chief Client Services Officer and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s strategic business development and marketing initiatives. In his role, Jim manages the firm’s Client Services Department, which includes business development, public relations and communications, events, webinars and podcasts, content marketing, and other functions. He works with firm leaders and attorneys on business development and marketing initiatives, and conducts client assessment survey meetings with firm clients. Additionally, he serves as a moderator and speaker on various topics at events conducted by Ogletree and other organizations. Jim has been the moderator of the firm’s Corporate Labor and Employment Counsel Exclusive seminar since its inception in 2013.

Prior to joining Ogletree, Jim served for eight years as in-house legal counsel and director of human resources for Emeril’s Homebase, the corporate headquarters for Chef Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant and related operations. Prior to that, he was a partner in a law firm in New Orleans, representing management in labor and employment law matters.

Jim is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and a Fellow in the Louisiana Bar Foundation. He formerly served as president of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Louisiana Chapter, and he is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Jim McGrew has a broad range of experience, having served for years as a practicing attorney in law firms, as in-house counsel and director of human resources, and now as Chief Client Services Officer for Ogletree. Jim practiced labor and employment law in New Orleans, where he focused on employment litigation and day-to-day counseling of clients. During his time in private practice, Jim was a frequent speaker on employment law topics to management groups.

After practicing law in the law firm setting for a number of years, Jim became the in-house legal counsel and director of human resources for Emeril’s Homebase, the corporate headquarters for Chef Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant and related operations. In that capacity, he led the in-house legal and human resources functions for the company, which included responsibility for all aspects of human resources, including development of policies and procedures, employee benefits, management training, and employment-related legal issues.

Jim joined Ogletree in 2008, initially as Client Relations Executive, and subsequently as Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Client Services Officer.
