Jamie L. Hagerott

Associate   |   Orange County

Jamie L. Hagerott represents and advises employers in all areas of employment law in state and federal courts, private arbitration, and before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Civil Rights Department (CRD). Her practice encompasses single-plaintiff and complex matters across the full spectrum of employment issues, as well as providing counsel on compliance and risk management. She partners with clients to navigate California’s evolving employment landscape, including updating policies and arbitration agreements and implementing workplace violence prevention plans. She has been recognized as a Best Lawyers “One to Watch” (2022–2026) and a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2022–2025).

Jamie has extensive experience defending non-profit organizations against employment claims, including disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, failure to engage in the interactive process, gender and age discrimination, sexual harassment, and wrongful termination. Notably, after filing a summary judgment motion, she secured an extremely favorable settlement for a non-profit public interest law firm wrongly accused of age and disability discrimination.

Jamie’s practice also includes advising and defending clients across many industries—including banking, aviation, catering, hospitality, trucking, logistics, retail sales, marketing, manufacturing, dining, accounting, and healthcare—on the full spectrum of issues that arise in the employment context, from day-to-day advice and counsel to high-stakes litigation. She handles complex discovery, takes and defends depositions, and effectively positions cases for resolution through motion practice, mediation, arbitration, or trial.

In arbitration, Jamie defends clients at every stage, from drafting and enforcing arbitration agreements to case strategy, discovery, dispositive motion practice, and evidentiary hearings. She brings the same disciplined approach to court proceedings, administrative investigations, and pre-litigation counseling, ensuring clients receive practical, business-oriented solutions.

Jamie regularly provides advice and counsel to clients on compliance with California employment laws, with a particular emphasis on wage and hour requirements. She helps organizations assess risk, implement compliant practices, and prepare for audits and agency inquiries.

Jamie also litigates complex PAGA and class actions for a wide range of clients, including those in the railroad and healthcare sectors, and she provides ongoing guidance on wage and hour compliance tailored to large, multi-site operations. Her experience includes defending against claims alleging misclassification, off-the-clock work, meal and rest period violations, and related derivative claims.

Outside of her practice, Jamie enjoys going to Disneyland, watching movies, reading, working out, and traveling. Her favorite place she has visited so far is Japan.
