Jason Plowman is a trusted advisor partnering with employers at every phase of the employment life cycle. His practice focuses on employment litigation, primarily involving class actions, collective actions, and multi-plaintiff litigation, most of which are nationwide or multi-state in scope. Although wage and hour matters are often the focus of his class and collective defense work, Jason has litigated class claims in several other areas, including the WARN Act, ERISA, BIPA, and various state laws. He also regularly represents employers before administrative agencies and state and federal courts throughout the country in single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, and retaliation matters.
Jason also has deep experience in employment law advice and counseling, having served as employment law counsel for a multi-national manufacturing company where he practiced labor and employment law from a business perspective in a fast-paced environment requiring practical and timely solutions for approximately 20,000 U.S.-based employees. Jason now regularly partners with clients to deliver practical solutions regarding federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations – from FMLA administration and reasonable accommodations to reductions in force and WARN Act compliance, among other matters. In doing so, he is able to assist clients in proactively managing pre-litigation risk.
During law school, Jason served as Managing Editor of the Washington University Law Review and as a graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Political Science. Prior to attending law school, Jason developed his client service skill set working first as a leadership consultant for Delta Upsilon International Fraternity and later as a flight attendant for a major commercial airline.
