Jill Novak Dalrymple is of counsel in the Nashville, Tennessee office of Ogletree Deakins. Jill joined the firm in July 2023, bringing substantial experience in both the private and governmental sectors. Notably, Jill served for 15 years as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert E. Littlefield, Jr. (2003-2006) and to the Honorable Diane Davis (Retired) (2009-2021) in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of New York where she assisted the bench with countless motion dockets, hearings, trials, and decisions. Earlier in her career, Jill was in-house counsel to a regional health care organization in Upstate New York where she provided legal guidance to various operational departments across multiple practice areas and represented the health plan in administrative hearings. Immediately prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Jill was of counsel to a boutique law firm based in Washington, D.C. that specializes in affordable housing and community development law. As a member of the firm’s Litigation and Practice Dispute Resolution Group, Jill represented public housing authorities, developers, and housing providers in administrative proceedings and litigation involving claims of housing discrimination, retaliation, and failure-to-accommodate under state and federal law, including the Fair Housing Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Jill’s employment practice at Ogletree Deakins is informed by her diverse background and understanding of the severe financial ramifications that non-compliance with the law and litigation can impose on employers of all sizes. Consequently, she is dedicated to helping clients mitigate risk and achieve reasonable results when faced with legal challenges.
Jill graduated, magna cum laude, from Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in American History in 1997. She received her law degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 2001. During law school, Jill was a member of the Moot Court Board and Chairperson of the Donna Jo Morse Negotiations and Client Counseling Competitions.
Jill is licensed to practice law and admitted in state and federal courts in Tennessee and New York.
