John Barcus focuses his practice on litigation of discrimination and retaliation claims, enforcement of employment agreements, wage and hour disputes, administrative agency proceedings, and employment-related contract actions, including class and collective action matters. In addition to his labor and employment work, John has significant experience in general civil litigation, including contract and business tort disputes and insurance litigation across all major lines. He has successful first-chair trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts both within and outside the state of Texas, and has presented argument in the Texas Supreme Court and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the firm in January 2017, John was a team leader in a start-up Dallas litigation firm, and for many years prior to that, was an associate of and partner in a prominent Dallas civil litigation boutique.
