Joseph J. Flanagan is an employment litigator and counselor.
As a litigator, Joe represents employers in federal and state courts on a wide range of employment law issues including:
- Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation,
- Employee policies, procedures and handbooks,
- Employment contract disputes, and
- Wage-and-hour
As a counselor, Joe advises businesses of all sizes on employment law issues including:
- Leaves of absence,
- Discrimination complaints,
- Employment policies, and
- Background checks.
Joe also focuses on workplace harassment or misconduct investigations.
During law school, Joe litigated cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia as a student attorney in Georgetown Law’s Appellate Litigation Clinic, was a member of Georgetown Law’s Appellate Advocacy Division, and served as a staff editor for The Georgetown Entertainment and Media Alliance (GEMA) Law Review.
