Laurielle joined Ogletree Deakins as an associate in 2018. She regularly provides advice and counsel to employers in a broad range of industries with the objective of meeting business needs while minimizing legal exposure. Laurielle provides guidance on employment issues such as state and federal leave laws, reasonable accommodations, interaction between company and state/federal leave benefits, and employee discipline. Laurielle also reviews and provides guidance on company employment policies to ensure compliance with state and federal law. In addition, Laurielle regularly advises clients on the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Act (MA PFML) and publishes regular blog coverage on updates regarding the MA PFML. Laurielle also has experience with conducting internal workplace investigations, including interviewing witnesses and assessing investigation findings.
In addition to her advice and counsel work, Laurielle also handles a wide range of disputes, including allegations of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies. She regularly drafts responses to agency charges, negotiates settlements directly with opposing counsel and through mediation, and provides overall strategic guidance on handling employment disputes.
Laurielle is originally from the New York City Metropolitan Area and currently lives and practices in the Greater Boston Area. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Laurielle gained legal experience in several settings in Boston and the New York City area, including law firms, legal services, and state agencies. Laurielle obtained her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, MA, where she served as an Editor on the Northeastern University Law Review as well as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Research and Writing. Laurielle obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Amherst College in Amherst, MA, where she majored in Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought, and served as a member and Director of the Amherst College Bluestockings Women’s A Capella group.
