Leslie Hecht Helmer

Leslie Helmer is a shareholder in the Los Angeles office of Ogletree Deakins. She engages exclusively in the representation of employers with respect to almost all aspects of labor and employment relations. Leslie has represented both companies and individual defendants in sexual harassment, employment discrimination, disability and wrongful discharge cases in the state and federal courts and has conducted numerous mediations in the employment discrimination area. She also has counseled employers with respect to personnel decisions including terminations and layoffs, wage and hour policies, employee handbooks, family and medical leaves of absence and disability accommodation issues.

In addition, Leslie has negotiated a number of executive employment agreements and conducted extensive training on sexual harassment investigations and compliance with the various state and federal disability/leave-related laws. She also has assisted numerous “start-up” companies in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures.

Leslie worked at the White House and Department of Commerce from 1985-1987.
