Drawing on a decade of experience, Marissa partners with clients to create and implement strategic, innovative workforce immigration solutions. She advises companies on designing immigration programs to facilitate hiring and retention of a foreign national workforce. She counsels organizations on immigration services ranging from onboarding advanced degree students to obtaining long term U.S. work authorization. Marissa’s clients span national and multinational employers in the following industries: higher education; financial services; shipping and logistics; engineering; and software development.
Marissa specializes in the following areas:
- Designing and managing global mobility programs to leverage a multinational workforce;
- Crafting competitive immigration policies to enhance the recruitment and retention of top-tier talent;
- Securing long term work authorization for foreign national employees through permanent residency sponsorship, including U.S. Department of Labor approval of applications for alien employment certification (PERM) and petitioning for extraordinary ability, outstanding researcher, and multinational manager and executive employees (EB1); and
- Providing expertise with nonimmigrant filings (E-3, H-1B, L-1, O-1, and TN) presented to the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Department of Labor.
Marissa received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she served on the editorial board of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. Prior to joining Ogletree, Marissa worked for the U.S. Department of Justice.
