Melissa has dedicated her professional career to corporate immigration law, helping businesses and individuals navigate the complex U.S. immigration system. She has worked with U.S. employers of various sizes across a variety of industries in understanding and complying with the immigration laws related to the hiring and retention of foreign talent in the United States.
She has experience assisting clients with a variety of employment-based nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1) and immigrant (PERM, I-140, I-485) visa related matters before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. State Department.
Through her experience working with global mobility teams, human resources departments and in-house counsel, she has assisted with the development of customized corporate immigration policies and strategies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, specifically with respect to the PERM labor certification process.
In addition, Melissa is well-versed in the family-based immigration process (I-130, I-864, I-485, I-751). She is also committed to giving back to the community and has helped the underserved through pro bono assistance in the areas of U visas for victims of criminal activity, re-parole applications, special immigrant visas, and asylum.
