Michael has a passion for counseling clients through difficult decisions. He places paramount importance on understanding a client’s business and developing tailored solutions that work for each individual client. Michael’s goal is to build a trusted partnership with his clients to help navigate the difficult and ever-changing issues employers face daily. While he has had numerous victories as an attorney, Michael takes the most pride in helping his clients avoid litigation through a common sense and cost-effective approach.
Michael also represents clients in workplace safety and health matters. Michael has counseled clients on regulatory compliance under OSHA, managed OSHA inspections related to fatalities and other serious injuries, negotiated resolutions of and challenged citations. Michael has also helped employers navigate whistleblower claims filed under the OSH Act.
Through serving as interim in-house employment counsel for a Fortune 500 Company, Michael gained an appreciation for the business considerations behind employment decisions. This opportunity also afforded him the ability to gain a unique amount of experience navigating the framework of the FMLA and ADA.
Michael is a passionate advocate for his clients. He has defended employers in arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and state and federal courts. Michael’s litigation experience involves a wide range of employment matters related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and breach of contract claims. He also has significant experience defending ADA accessibility matters. Michael has served as a trusted advisor for retail and hospitality clients across the Southeast with regard to ADA accessibility claims.
When not practicing law, Michael enjoys learning how to cook new dishes, grilling, traveling, and supporting Auburn sports.
