Ms. Manjarrez is an attorney in the Chicago office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. Ms. Manjarrez advises employers in all aspects of the employment relationship. She regularly counsels human resources professionals and in-house counsel on sick leave, unemployment, wage and hour issues, employment policies, employee handbooks, compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination statutes, and terminations. She provides management and non-management training on discrimination, harassment and workplace violence in English and Spanish.
In the traditional labor space, Ms. Manjarrez is experienced in handling a variety of matters before the National Labor Relations Board, from the charge investigation phase up to and including trial and post-trial proceedings. She is experienced in overseeing representation elections, leading labor negotiations, including drafting and revising economic and non-economic proposals, enforcement of the labor contract post execution, and defending labor grievances and unfair labor practice charges. She has conducted labor and employment due diligence in a ~1.35 billion-dollar stock purchase of a multi-state unionized company and a multimillion-dollar asset purchase of a unionized facility, where she negotiated the initial terms and conditions following the acquisition. She has also performed high profile investigations implicating sensitive labor relations issues.
Ms. Manjarrez is a Co-Chair of ODAdelante, the firm’s business resource group for Latinx attorneys.
