Patrick Maher is senior counsel in the Dallas office of Ogletree Deakins. He received a B.S. with highest honors from Santa Clara University and a J.D. with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was a Note & Research Editor on the Texas Law Review and Vice Chancellor.
After graduation, Mr. Maher clerked for Judge Joseph Sneed on the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. Mr. Maher is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a past Chair of the State Bar of Texas Labor & Employment Law Section and Tarrant County Bar Labor & Employment Law Section. He previously served as Chair of the Council of Section Chairs and on the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas as a Section Representative .
Mr. Maher is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Law Attorneys. He has lectured extensively on employment law topics for such organizations as the State Bar of Texas, the Tarrant and Dallas County Bar Associations, the University of Texas, and the University of Houston. He is a Co-Editor of the Texas Employment Law treatise (2019, James Publishing). He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Chisholm Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Board of Trustees of the University of Dallas, and the Board of Directors of the Tarrant County Bar Association. Mr. Maher has been designated as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine (2003-2019), a Top Lawyer in Tarrant County by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine (2003-2019), and as one of the Best Lawyers in America (Woodward/White 2006-22).
