Sara E. Olschewske

Shareholder   |   Greenville

Sara is a shareholder in the Greenville office of Ogletree Deakins. She advises and counsels employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, with extensive legal and professional experience in technology sector employers.

Sara began her legal career at Ogletree Deakins in 2016. After a successful tenure as the senior labor counsel for a leading tech, e-commerce company, where she specialized in labor and gig economy-specific issues, Sara rejoined Ogletree Deakins in February 2025, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Her practice focuses primarily on traditional labor relations, including representing employers before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Sara is adept at conducting vulnerability assessments and developing proactive employee relations strategies to mitigate potential labor disputes. She excels in pre-petition work, guiding clients through the intricacies of labor law to prevent unionization efforts before they begin.

When a petition is filed, Sara works as a campaign strategist, managing all aspects of the election process. She has successfully represented employers in union campaigns and negotiations, ensuring that collective bargaining is conducted smoothly and effectively to achieve favorable outcomes. Additionally, Sara has a proven track record in handling grievance procedures and defending against unfair labor practice charges, providing representation to protect clients’ interests.

In addition to her traditional labor relations practice, Sara has experience defending employers against EEOC and state agency charges related to harassment and discrimination on various bases, including protected concerted activity, race, gender, age, national origin, disability, and sexual orientation.

Sara was also recognized as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America™ for Labor and Employment Law – Management (2023).

When not working, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and dogs. She loves spending time in her “I want to be a homesteader” garden, attempting to make sourdough, relaxing by the pool, and reading a trending book.
