Ogletree Deakins Welcomes Tobias Schlueter as Shareholder

CHICAGO, IL – May 3, 2010 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Tobias Schlueter has joined its Chicago office as Shareholder.  Schlueter is formerly with Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP in the firm’s Chicago office.  

“Tobias is a welcome addition that will add both talent and depth to the team,” said Robert Casey, co-managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins’ Chicago office.  “He is an experienced litigator with class action experience who also can advise clients on a myriad of labor and employment law issues.”

In his practice, Schlueter litigates cases in state and federal courts and administrative agencies concentrating on helping corporate clients in complex disputes and labor and employment matters.  His experience includes litigation involving restrictive covenants; misappropriation of trade secrets; breaches of contracts; defamation; discrimination; Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) involving pension benefits; wrongful discharge; internal investigations of employee misconduct; and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.  In particular, Schlueter has extensive experience in successfully litigating high stakes matters in the context of motions seeking temporary restraining orders and other injunctive relief.

Schlueter also has provided discrimination and harassment training to the management of Fortune 500 companies throughout the United States.  He has extensive experience in speaking to human resources management about leave issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and worker’s compensation.

Schlueter earned his J.D., cum laude, from The John Marshall Law School and a B.A. from Franciscan University.
