CHICAGO, IL – September 12, 2011 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, is pleased to announce that Harry Secaras has joined the firm’s Chicago office as a shareholder. Secaras joins Ogletree Deakins from Pappas, Cleary, O’Connor, Fildes, Secaras, P.C. where he was a founding shareholder based in Chicago. Secaras has amassed a broad range of labor and employment law experience during his 22 years of practicing law, including strategic planning for collective bargaining; representing employers before the National Labor Relations Board; counseling employers in OSHA investigations; arbitrations and mediations; and litigation. His litigation experience includes representing employers in federal and state court on matters such as wage, non-compete and trade secret claims, breach of contract claims, discrimination, and wrongful termination claims. Secaras’ clients consists of private sector employers ranging from multi-national corporations to small, privately-owned businesses including employers in warehousing, trucking and logistics, construction, banking, and manufacturing.

Outside of his practice, Secaras is an instructor at the University of Wisconsin – Outreach, the continuing education arm of the University. He is the Chairman of the New Trier Educational Foundation, on the Board of Directors for the Hellenic Bar Association Foundation, and a member of the American Bar Association’s Subcommittee on Practice and Procedure before the NLRB. He also serves his community as a basketball and softball coach.
Secaras attended the University of Illinois where he earned his B.A. in Economics in 1985, and his M.B.A and J.D. in 1989.
