Ogletree Deakins Adds Two Shareholders To Firm’s New Orleans Office

NEW ORLEANS – February 14, 2012 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the nation’s largest labor and employment law firms, welcomes Christopher Moore and Christine White as shareholders to the firm’s New Orleans office. Both Moore and White join Ogletree Deakins from Coats, Rose, Yale, Ryman & Lee (Coats Rose) where they were Directors in the firm’s New Orleans office. Since opening in 2009, the New Orleans office of Ogletree Deakins has grown to 11 attorneys led by managing shareholder, Mark Mallery. Additional growth in the New Orleans office is expected soon. Ogletree Deakins continues to experience growth across the firm’s national platform given the recent additions of shareholders to the firm’s Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and St. Louis offices.

Christopher Moore brings significant jury trial and collective action litigation experience to Ogletree Deakins which deepens the existing talent in the firm’s Class Action Practice Group. Throughout his career, Moore has successfully defended employers with regard to federal and state law claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour, and issues under the Family and Medical Leave Act. He has also successfully represented management with respect to Traditional Labor Relations matters in union organizing campaigns, labor disputes, the defense of unfair labor practice complaints, and labor arbitrations.

Moore is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA, where he is noted by clients for his legal abilities in labor and employment law. He has also earned an AV Preeminent Peer Review rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating and a testament to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence. Moore is active in his community as a Member of the Fore!Kids Foundation, a New Orleans organization that helps put on The PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans event and distributes the proceeds to local children’s charities. Moore earned his J.D. from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis. Earlier, he received a B.A. from Rhodes College.

Christine White is also a successful litigator. Throughout her career, she has successfully defended employers in federal and state court against a wide variety of discrimination claims, retaliation and harassment claims, unfair competition issues, employee benefits claims, wage and hour claims, and a variety of issues regarding employee leave law. She has also successfully represented employers in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. Earlier in her career, White served as a judicial law clerk to Chief Justice Pascal F. Calogero, Jr. of the Louisiana Supreme Court.

White earned her J.D., cum laude, from the Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. During law school, she was a member of the Loyola Law Review and was a William L. Crowe Scholar. Earlier, she received her B.S. from Louisiana State University.
