Luther Wright, Jr. Recognized With Outstanding Service Award

NASHVILLE – February 27, 2015 – Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Luther Wright, Jr., an attorney in the firm’s Nashville office, has been selected as a recipient of the Napier-Looby Bar Foundation’s 2015 Justice A. A. Birch Award. Wright earned this recognition based on his outstanding professional achievements, dedication to the legal profession, and commitment to the organized bar. Wright was honored on February 26 at the Napier-Looby Bar Foundation’s 11^th Annual Barristers’ Banquet and Awards Program.

Wright has practiced law for nearly 20 years and focuses his practice on labor and employment litigation, counseling, and training. He regularly represents management in all forms of employment discrimination litigation, including litigation based on federal anti-discrimination statutes, state statutes and common law, violence in the workplace, Fair Labor Standards Act claims, and independent contractor disputes.

Wright is very active in the Nashville community. He is a fellow in the Tennessee Bar Foundation and Nashville Bar Foundation and serves on the board of Growth Enterprises Nashville, Inc. Wright is a former board member of the Renewal House and Students Taking A Right Stand, past president of Napier-Looby Bar Association, and past governor of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors. He is AV preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, named in the Best Lawyers in America, and in 2014 earned the Women’s Political Collaborative of Tennessee’s Good Guy Award. Wright, a native of Nashville, earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School and B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Middle Tennessee State University.
