   |   Press Release

ATLANTA – June 10, 2021 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that Tina Bengs has been selected to serve as co-chair of the firm’s national Leaves of Absence/Reasonable Accommodation Practice Group. Tina will serve as co-chair alongside Charles Thompson.

The Leaves of Absence/Reasonable Accommodation Practice Group is comprised of experienced and dedicated employment law attorneys focused on helping employers find practical solutions to leaves of absence and reasonable accommodation issues while minimizing legal risks and operational impacts. The group provides compliance solutions, offers supervisor training, and litigates these issues in state and federal court. Members of the group regularly counsel clients on an array of issues, including the interactive process, disability accommodation policies, best practice checklists, and reasonable accommodation template forms and letters. They also assist employers in navigating through the intersecting issues that arise under state workers’ compensation systems, the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and various local, state, and federal family medical leave laws. The group also offers state-specific services for those employers that operate in states with their own leave and disability accommodation laws.

Tina regularly counsels employers on various employment and labor issues relating to the ADA, Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA), National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), worker’s compensation, Title VII, unemployment, termination and discipline, labor issues and collective bargaining agreements, and employment policies and handbooks. She represents clients in employment litigation matters at the local, state, and federal agency level and in state and federal court. Tina also provides representation to employers in Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and other benefits litigation and counseling matters, involving pension, life, health, disability, and employee benefits issues. She speaks on a variety of employment and labor topics for several business associations and conducts internal training for clients.
