Expanded mobile access, AI-augmented enterprise search, natural language chatbot with multi-language support among notable achievements
ATLANTA – December 1, 2021 – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, successfully launched its new cloud-based ODConnect intranet platform, advancing the firm’s digital transformation strategy. The new SharePoint Online-based ODConnect is purpose-built to foster collaboration and enable attorneys and staff to easily access client/matter data, business intelligence, and firm information distributed amongst multiple data repositories and more than 500,000 pages of content. The portal features fully integrated, scalable enterprise search; a chatbot-driven knowledge base incorporating natural language processing capabilities; and extensive, data-rich reporting and content for the firm’s practice and industry groups and client teams – all optimized for productivity through a user-first interface design and robust mobile experience.
“ODConnect was built as an efficiency tool for all our attorneys and professional staff, who need to be able to work anywhere and find quickly what they need at any time,” said the firm’s Chief Knowledge Officer, Dave Boland, who is spearheading the ODConnect digital transformation effort.
ODConnect bolsters its value proposition by removing common barriers to accessing information online, enabling Ogletree Deakins’ attorneys to quickly and efficiently access mobile-ready content for enhanced responsiveness, agility, and productivity. The platform’s content is rich with industry-targeted news, events, and internal communications personalized for each user. ODConnect’s integrated enterprise search provides an advanced user experience that provides fast access to people, documents, and client and matter information. The new search delivers contextually relevant results by integrating data and content from a variety of sources, including the firm’s document management; time and billing; and content management systems.
The launch of ODConnect is the culmination of a highly collaborative, firm-wide planning and feedback process involving a highly diverse set of stakeholders and project participants representing the firm’s attorneys, paralegals, professional staff, office administrators, and executive and administrative leadership.
“Ogletree Deakins is known for delivering exceptional client value through technology and innovation. ODConnect demonstrates this firm-wide commitment by providing a platform that enables us to work more effectively and efficiently in service of our clients. Our colleagues at every level are enthusiastically adopting innovation and adapting to change,” said Boland. “The positive reception of ODConnect helps propel our digital transformation and inspires us to deliver services like never before. This results in a greater ability to collaborate with clients and focus on larger, business-oriented issues so our clients can thrive.”
