Rob Pettigrew is an employment litigator who has defended employers and management against a wide variety of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, whistleblower, wage, non-competition/non-solicitation and public accommodation accessibility claims before numerous state and federal courts and government enforcement agencies.  Rob also represents unionized employers before proceedings conducted by the National Labor Relations Board, such as unfair labor practice charges, labor elections, and grievance arbitrations.

In addition to handling complex employment litigation and labor matters, Rob routinely counsels and provides training to clients on a wide range of day-to-day employment issues, such as workplace policies, employment agreements, accommodations, leave management, employee discipline, termination, union avoidance, and public accommodation accessibility. He has represented employers of all sizes and from a number of different industries, ranging from Fortune 500 corporations to closely-held and family businesses, which include the energy, manufacturing, staffing, transportation, hospital, education, restaurant/hospitality, grocery, and life sciences industries.

While in law school, Rob served as a legal intern with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office – Securities Division where he assisted trial attorneys in the investigation of securities-related actions and in policy-making initiatives at the agency level.  He also completed a judicial internship with the Honorable William J. Martini, U.S.D.J. where he prepared legal memoranda and assisted in judicial opinions on a wide variety of legal matters.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Rob worked in the Labor & Employment Department at White and Williams LLP.  Rob also is a former appellate law clerk to the late Honorable Edwin R. Alley, J.A.D. Prior to attending law school, Rob graduated from the Essex County Police Academy, where he was awarded the Father Robert F. Grady Memorial Award for academic achievement.
