George J. Theofanis is an associate in the Sacramento office of Ogletree Deakins. He serves as a civil litigator focusing on all aspects of California state and federal labor and employment law consulting and litigation in civil court, arbitration, and governmental agency proceedings.
George helps California employers resolve challenging employee disputes based on discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, failure to accommodate/provide reasonable accommodation, and wage and hour violations filed individually or as class actions or representative actions brought under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA).
George serves his clients by taking a balanced and cost-effective approach to litigation. He transparently guides clients through the litigation process by maintaining a high level of communication and transparency. George has succeeded for his clients by reaching early, cost-effective settlements and has successfully defended suits against employers, including many total dismissals.
George received his JD with great distinction from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and was named Order of the Coif. During law school, George externed for the Honorable Justice Ronald B. Robie, California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District. He also was a Comment Primary Editor for the University of the Pacific Law Review. A native of the Chicago area, George received his BA from the University of Illinois at Chicago, magna cum laude, in Criminology.
