Alison Adelman is of counsel in the San Diego office of Ogletree Deakins, where she represents employers throughout California in employment disputes. She handles matters from prelitigation demands and agency proceedings through arbitration and trial. Alison specializes in single-plaintiff claims involving wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate, misclassification, and wage and hour violations. Alison works closely with employers to investigate claims, assess exposure, and develop practical strategies aligned with their business objectives. Her experience includes proceedings before the California Labor Commissioner, litigation in California state and Federal courts, and arbitrations.
Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Alison practiced at a local law firm, where she handled employment, business, personal injury, and other civil litigation matters. That experience included cases before the California Court of Appeal and California Supreme Court, two of which resulted in published opinions.
Alison earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law. While in law school, she served as an executive editor of the San Diego International Law Journal, competed on the Appellate Moot Court Board, and externed for the Honorable Anthony J. Battaglia of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.
Alison earned her B.S. in Business, cum laude, from the University of Connecticut, where she pitched for the Division I softball team for four years. Alison also played softball in high school, and upon graduation, the school retired her jersey number and later inducted her into the Sports Hall of Fame.
A native San Diegan, Alison enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, following the Padres, and rooting them on at Petco Park.
