Erin Shackelford is an associate in the firm’s Nashville office. Her practice focuses on both labor and employment law, where she provides counsel to employers on a variety of labor and employment-related issues across various industries. Erin has an active litigation practice, defending employers in federal and state courts throughout Tennessee. Prior to joining the firm, Erin served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Richard H. Dinkins in the Tennessee Court of Appeals, and as an assistant attorney general for the Office of the Tennessee Attorney General & Reporter where she represented state departments, boards, and agencies in a variety of civil matters in state and federal courts. In addition to her litigation practice, Erin has front-line experience addressing complex issues in non-union environments and assisting clients with workplace investigations, management training, and defense strategies (organizing activity, strikes/picketing, and labor strategy).
Erin received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and her B.A. from Miami University. While in law school, Erin served on the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law as a notes editor and as a governing member of the Vanderbilt Bar Association.
In her free time, Erin enjoys reading poetry and fiction, exploring Nashville’s food scene, taking her beloved dog, Ruth, on walks, and spending time with her family.
