Elizabeth Jozsi is of counsel in the Tampa office, where she represents employers of all sizes in labor and employment matters, including discrimination, retaliation, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and whistleblowing cases. She also provides advice and counsel regarding handbooks and employment policies, employment and separation agreements, leave and accommodations, and general employment advice.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Elizabeth worked as a judicial law clerk for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida where she gained experience working on complex federal cases. Following the clerkship, she joined a small law firm in Lake County, Florida where she represented the largest employer in the county, as well as small businesses, on a variety of employment matters. She also gained public sector experience as she served as co-counsel for the Lake County School Board for four years. Elizabeth also has federal agency experience, working at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of General Counsel’s office in the Summer Honors Program during law school.
Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree at Duke University, and graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, Elizabeth was an executive editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy, was a member of the Environmental Moot Court Team, and studied abroad in Costa Rica.
Outside of her legal practice, Elizabeth keeps busy spending time with her husband, one-year-old daughter, and two rescue dogs. She enjoys March Madness (go Duke!), reading, sewing, and spending time in the mountains of North Carolina.

Elizabeth has extensive experience litigating in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and before administrative bodies, on a variety of complex claims, including claims under:

Elizabeth is admitted to practice in all Florida courts as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida.
COUNSELING
In addition to litigation, Elizabeth routinely advises employers on a wide range of workplace issues and legal considerations. Elizabeth enjoys working directly with clients before issues arise and regularly advises clients on issues involving personnel policies and handbooks, hiring, disciplining, terminating, reasonable accommodations, FMLA leave, workplace investigations, non-competition agreements, severance agreements, employee training, and other duties and liabilities of employers.
EDUCATION LAW
Elizabeth leverages her experience as a former Florida school board attorney to provide counseling to educational institutions, including private and charter K-12 schools and public and private colleges and universities. She has experience conducting Title IX investigations, employee grievance hearings, and student disciplinary hearings. Elizabeth also has experience as an adjunct professor at Florida Southern College in the Barney Barnett School of Business.
