As a shareholder in the Ogletree Deakins Cross-Border Practice Group, Patty advises companies on establishing and managing global workforces, including legal considerations when using global independent contractors and contingent workers. She counsels clients on options to lawfully employ workers in any particular country, covering background check regulations, visas, and employment agreement requirements.

Patty’s expertise includes best practices for global contracts and policies; mandatory disciplinary procedures; termination and redundancy regulations; remote work abroad; and global business trips, secondments, and multinational mergers and acquisitions. She also specializes in guiding clients through the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in the workplace.

Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Patty served as VP of International Compliance & Legal for a global contingent workforce management company. Academically, she studied international business and tax law at the University of San Diego, studied abroad at the University of Copenhagen Faculty of Law, and authored works on international GMO legalities.
