Alexandra Asterlin is a seasoned litigator with two decades of experience. Alexandra focuses on class action and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) litigation involving claims, such as meal and rest period violations, working off the clock, unpaid wages, improper rounding practices, improper classification, failure to reimburse expenses, wage statement violations, and unfair competition under Business §17200. Additionally, she litigates individual claims of harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and misappropriation of trade secrets. Alexandra represents local and national businesses in courts throughout California and in matters involving the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), and California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).
In addition to her extensive PAGA and class action litigation experience, Alexandra regularly conducts workplace investigations, including those involving claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower claims, wage and hour violations, workplace violence, employee misconduct, and poor performance. With this background, she brings a unique perspective when evaluating documentation, ascertaining the credibility of witnesses, and connecting related facts to either corroborate or refute evidence.
Alexandra believes prevention is key. As such, she regularly counsels clients on best policies and practices to manage risk and ensure compliance in a manner such that business needs can be met in an effective and efficient manner. To that end, she manages compliance audits, drafts necessary policies and practices, and provides training to both management and employees on wage and hour, discrimination and harassment, and DEI issues.
Alexandra previously served as an extern for the Third District Court of Appeal and as the Senior Attorney for the Amador Superior Court, where she spent significant time as a judge pro tem.
Alexandra is an active member of several legal and business associations, including the Society for Human Resource Management, Sacramento Area Human Resource Association, Sacramento County Bar Association, Chico Chamber of Commerce, and Sacramento Women’s Lawyer Association. She graduated Order of the Coif from McGeorge School of Law and earned her bachelor’s degree, with honors, from the University of California, Davis.
